Chris Jericho believes it’s fantastic that John Cena will be spending the next year-and-a-half bidding farewell to the pro wrestling audience.
In an in-depth interview on the McGuire On Wrestling podcast, AEW’s “The Learning Tree” leader and the longest-reigning “For The World” champion shared his thoughts on John Cena’s recent announcement.
Cena has revealed that he will be embarking on a WWE retirement tour over the next year-and-a-half, which will include his final matches at WrestleMania, Elimination Chamber, and Royal Rumble premium live events.
“It’s great,” Jericho said. “John has always had a deep love for wrestling and a strong connection with the fans, so I think this is a cool way to do it. People know that this is the end.”
Jericho continued, “John isn’t the kind of person to make statements lightly. I’m sure he’s been focused on this and working with the company to ensure everything is perfect. It’s going to be an amazing year and a half for Cena fans and for John Cena himself.”
