WWE has started the build for next month’s Royal Rumble premium live event, which will be put into full swing after the holidays.
WrestlingNews.co reports that the top matches are set internally. Still, some things can’t be announced until after the December 30th edition of SmackDown, which will be headlined by John Cena teaming with Kevin Owens against Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns.
Barring an injury, the card will feature Reigns defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Kevin Owens, Ronda Rousey defending the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Raquel Rodriguez, a Pitch Black Match and Edge vs. “Demon” Finn Balor.
Per the report, the Edge vs. Balor match will be a gimmick match, and right now, it’s looking like a Hell in a Cell match.
The Pitch Black Match was previously reported by WrestlingNews.co, although no details were given. A source stated that they believe this match is for Bray Wyatt, who has been feuding with LA Knight.
WWE presents the Royal Rumble premium live event on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from San Antonio, Texas at the Alamodome that will air on Peacock. WWE will be announcing the matches for this show in the coming weeks.
