The November 7th episode of WWE SmackDown was taped in Manchester, England. Here are 3 winners and losers from this week’s SmackDown:

Sami Zayn (Loser)

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens interrupted Shane McMahon and the New Day to kick off this week’s episode of SmackDown. Owens and Zayn were clearly bitter about having to be in qualifying matches to join Team SmackDown at Survivor Series. Sami and Owens both lost their matches and were subsequently left off the team. Shane had enough of Sami’s attitude tonight and placed him in a match against Kofi Kingston.

The match itself was decent, but the two Superstars could have clearly put on a better match if they wanted to. Sami controlled a lot of the match, but in the end he came up short. Kofi Kingston connected with a Crossbody for the pinfall victory. Owens attacked Kofi after the match, but quickly retreated once Big E and Xavier Woods got in the ring. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens will most likely get their revenge on Team SmackDown at Survivor Series, but Sami had a rough night on this week’s SmackDown.

Becky Lynch (Winner)

Becky Lynch faced off against James Ellsworth tonight on SmackDown. Ellsworth and Becky Lynch had a conversation backstage before the match. Ellsworth was very condescending towards Becky Lynch and women in general and essentially said he would defeat Becky Lynch with ease.

Well, that didn’t turn out to be the case tonight. Becky dominated Ellsworth in the ring as the SmackDown women’s roster cheered her on from ringside. Ellsworth had one shining moment where he shoved Lynch out of the ring, but Becky quickly climbed to the top rope and connected with a Dropkick. Lynch then locked Ellsworth in the Dis-Arm-Her for the submission victory.

James Ellsworth (Loser)

James Ellsworth was made to look like a bigger idiot than usual tonight on SmackDown. First, he cut a promo that turned the entire SmackDown women’s division against him. He then guaranteed a victory over Becky Lynch and promptly got his ass kicked in embarrassing fashion.

If that wasn’t bad enough, he then got booted in the face by Carmella. James Ellsworth couldn’t possibly have had a worse night. Carmella has now cut ties with Ellsworth and will be just fine without him. Ellsworth really has nowhere else to go on SmackDown and I cannot think of a role for him in the future. He really hasn’t helped Carmella at all recently and what happened tonight was long overdue.

The Usos (Winners)

The Usos defended their SmackDown Tag Team Championships against Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin tonight on SmackDown. It was a quick match in which The Usos retained their titles in bizarre fashion. Chad Gable chop blocked Jey Uso’s knee outside the ring. Shelton Benjamin then inexplicably watched Jey Uso get counted out.

The Usos lost the match via count-out and I’m sure Jey Uso will be feeling the attack by Gable leading into Survivor Series. However, they are still the SmackDown Tag Team Champions and are still going to be on the Survivor Series card when they face The Bar. Gable and Benjamin essentially cost themselves a shot at the titles this week in an effort to send a message to The Usos.

Rusev (Loser)

Rusev was originally supposed to face AJ Styles tonight to determine the final member of Team SmackDown at Survivor Series. Those plans changed when it was announced that Styles will get a shot at the WWE Championship in the main event of this week’s SmackDown. It was then announced that Rusev will face Randy Orton and if he won, Rusev would be the final member of Team SmackDown.

Rusev controlled the majority of the match and the crowd actually got behind him. Just as the crowd was starting to cheer for Rusev, Randy Orton hit him with an RKO out of nowhere for the pinfall victory. Rusev is now officially off of the men’s team at Survivor Series and that means there is still once vacant spot left on the team. It is stunning to me that Rusev can never seem to catch a break. He is very talented, but WWE doesn’t appear to have any faith in him at this time.

AJ Styles (Winner)

Jinder Mahal defended his WWE Championship against AJ Styles in the main event of tonight’s SmackDown. Mahal showed off his ridiculous strength early in the match and tossed Styles out of the ring. AJ continued to battle back throughout the match, but Mahal constantly halted his momentum. It looked like Mahal had the match won after the Singh Brothers interfered. Mahal hit the Khallas but Styles was able to get his foot on the bottom rope to break up the pinfall.

AJ then took out the Singh Brothers ringside and focused all of his attention on Jinder Mahal. It wasn’t long before AJ took control and connected with a Phenomenal Forearm for the pinfall victory. The nightmare is officially over and Jinder Mahal is no longer the WWE Champion. AJ Styles is the new WWE Champion and he will now face Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. Both SmackDown and Survivor Series’ card just got a hell of a lot better because Styles is holding the title once again.
