The November 14th, 2017 episode of WWE SmackDown took place at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC. It was the go-home show for WWE Survivor Series this Sunday. Here are 3 winners and losers from this week’s SmackDown:
Charlotte Flair (Winner)
Charlotte Flair faced Natalya tonight for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. The winner of the match would go on to represent SmackDown against Alexa Bliss at Survivor Series. Charlotte had the match in control but made a critical mistake when she went for a Moonsault off the barricade. Natalya was ready for it and slammed Charlotte into the ring post.
Natalya then brought Charlotte back into the ring and locked in the Sharpshooter. Charlotte screamed in pain but was able to will herself to the bottom rope to break the hold. Charlotte battled back and connected with a big boot. Charlotte then applied the Figure Eight for the submission victory. After the match, Charlotte dedicated the match to her father and raised the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Sin Cara (Loser)
Sin Cara battled Baron Corbin tonight for what felt like the thousandth week in a row. This time it was for the United States Championship and the winner of the match would go on to face The Miz at Survivor Series. Sin Cara controlled the majority of the match and was starting to get inside Corbin’s head.
In the end, Corbin’s power was too much for Sin Cara to handle. Sin Cara hit a bunch of impressive moves but simply could not recover from Corbin’s End of Days. I don’t see Sin Cara getting another shot at the United States Championship and as of now, he is not a part of Survivor Series this Sunday.
Daniel Bryan (Winner)
SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan made his return after getting Chokeslammed by Kane on an episode of RAW last month. Bryan took some responsibility for that and stated that he shouldn’t have gone to RAW by himself. Bryan then called down WWE Champion AJ Styles to the ring.
Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles then proceeded to cut an awesome promo together about Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman. Daniel made himself AJ Styles’ personal advocate for the night and said that Styles is mentally tougher than Brock Lesnar. Bryan brought up the fact that Lesnar tapped out to a “half-assed knee bar” at a UFC event. Daniel Bryan was terrific on the microphone tonight and it just makes me wish even more that he was able to compete in the ring this Sunday at Survivor Series.
Chad Gable (Loser)
Chad Gable faced Jimmy Uso tonight on SmackDown. Last week, Gable and Benjamin had a shot at the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Gable hid under the ring during the match and then took out Jey Uso’s knee. Gable and Benjamin wound up winning the match via count-out but The Usos retained their titles.
Jimmy Uso got revenge for his brother when he connected with a big time Superkick on Gable for the pinfall victory. I’m sure that Gable and Benjamin will get another shot at the titles in the future, but right now they feel like an afterthought. Gable is a tremendous talent, I hope WWE is able to put him in a role in which he can succeed.
Ric Flair (Winner)
After Charlotte defeated Natalya for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, she devoted the match to her father. Charlotte’s hometown crowd gave her a great ovation as she made her way up the entrance ramp. Ric Flair’s music then hit and Ric appeared on the entrance ramp.
Charlotte sprinted up to him and the two shared a hug. Ric Flair then did a strut and waved to the elated crowd. It was an awesome moment for Charlotte and Ric Flair. It was also great to see Ric Flair back on television. He looked healthy and absolutely terrific. I’m not sure how often we will see the Nature Boy from now on, but it was very special to see him congratulating his daughter tonight.
Shane McMahon (Loser)
SmackDown’s Commissioner Shane McMahon had an absolutely terrible night and it was all deserved. Shane McMahon instructed the SmackDown roster to invade RAW a few weeks ago and tonight the RAW roster got their revenge. SmackDown went off the air after Kurt Angle hit the Angle Slam on Shane and then The Shield followed it up by delivering their second Triple Powerbomb to McMahon.
The rest of the night didn’t go too well either for Shane McMahon. SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan informed Shane that he wanted to have a discussion with Shane following Survivor Series. Daniel Bryan is clearly still upset that Shane didn’t consult him about invading RAW. RAW’s men’s team got a whole lot stronger last night when Triple H announced that he was going to be a part of the match. After tonight’s attack, there is no way SmackDown will be heading into Survivor Series this Sunday at 100 percent.
