WWE RAW aired live from the Resch Center this week. It was the first episode of RAW following WWE TLC 2017 and the show was mainly focused on building up WWE Survivor Series next month. Here are 3 winners and losers from this week’s RAW:

AJ Styles (Winner)

AJ Styles had the match of the night with Finn Balor last night at WWE TLC. Tonight, he once again appeared on a RAW brand show and once again was a part of the match of the evening. Styles joined Ambrose and Rollins against The Miz and The Bar. AJ wound up picking up the victory for his team after connecting with a Phenomenal Forearm to Cesaro.

Styles’ night was far from over. He appeared in the final segment of RAW alongside members of the SmackDown roster. The group surrounded RAW GM Kurt Angle and then caused chaos backstage to close the show. AJ Styles has had one hell of a week so far and he also looks to be next in line to face WWE Champion Jinder Mahal for the title.

Asuka (Loser)

Asuka defeated Emma at WWE TLC 2017 and once again faced her tonight on RAW. It was the same result and Asuka picked up the submission victory with the Asuka Lock. The issue is that Asuka struggled to defeat Emma in both of the matches. WWE built Asuka up as a force with a series of vignettes, but now they are booking her as beatable.

Asuka is undefeated and she should be treated as such on the main roster. It makes no sense why WWE would book her in very competitive matches with Emma right now. Emma is very talented, but WWE has made her look like a joke for the past several months. I find it to be a huge mistake to have Asuka appear beatable so early in her tenure on the main roster. She should be dominant right now and when she does lose, it should be built up as a massive deal. It won’t be nearly as big of a deal if she is struggling to win every match on the main roster.

Kalisto (Winner)

Kalisto lost his Cruiserweight Championship to Enzo Amore last night at WWE TLC. Enzo poked Kalisto in the eye while the referee was distracted and then hit his finisher to recapture the Cruiserweight Championship. It was a ridiculously short title run for Kalisto and he lost to the worst wrestler on WWE’s roster.

However, tonight was a different story. Kalisto teamed up with Mustafa Ali, Gran Metalik, Rich Swann and Cedric Alexander to face Enzo Amore, Tony Nese, Drew Gulak, Ariya Daivari and Noam Dar. Kalisto wound up pinning Amore and picked up some much needed momentum heading into his rematch for the Cruiserweight Championship tomorrow night on 205 Live.

Finn Balor (Loser)

Finn Balor defeated AJ Styles at WWE TLC 2017 and seemed to finally be heading in the right direction. He was originally booked in a train wreck of a match against Bray Wyatt (as Sister Abigail) but Wyatt was unable to compete. AJ Styles replaced Wyatt and Balor picked up an impressive victory that had the entire crowd chanting “this is awesome!” throughout the match.

Tonight on RAW, Balor accepted an open challenge from Kane and lost after being on the receiving end of three Chokeslams. It is baffling to me that Balor defeated Styles on Sunday night, only to lose to Kane the following night on RAW. I understand that WWE wants to build Kane back up, but wasn’t there someone else on the roster that could have lost to Kane tonight?

Paul Heyman (Winner)

Paul Heyman came down to the ring with Universal Champion Brock Lesnar to address WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. Last week on SmackDown, Mahal issued a challenge to Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. Paul Heyman responded to that challenge tonight on behalf of Brock Lesnar and cut a terrific promo.

Heyman questioned if Mahal was a worthy champion and noted that Jinder has had a hell of a time surviving his feud with Randy Orton and the Singh Brothers. Heyman and Lesnar also shared a laugh at Mahal’s expense and the crowd ate it up. I have no idea what is going to happen at Survivor Series when Lesnar gets in the ring with Mahal. However, Paul Heyman showed Mahal absolutely no respect tonight and it was very entertaining to watch.

The Entire RAW Roster (Losers)

RAW GM Kurt Angle came down to the ring to close this week’s episode of RAW and was ready to announce the RAW Men’s Team for Survivor Series. He was interrupted by SmackDown GM Shane McMahon, who came down to the ring though alongside the majority of the SmackDown roster.

Shane and his troops surrounded Angle in the ring and then Angle scampered backstage. Shane then told the SmackDown roster to go backstage and they obliged. The SmackDown Superstars then proceeded to beat the hell out of anyone they came across backstage in the RAW locker room. Baron Corbin even beatdown a helpless intern. It was a great way to kickoff the build towards WWE Survivor Series next month and as of now, SmackDown has the upper-hand. It will be interesting to see if Angle and the RAW roster responds tomorrow night on SmackDown.
